First off, I upgrade from a Epson Stylus Color 440 which didn't function right with current built system.
I purchased this printer from Costco Wholesale. They have a liberal return policy and I wanted to make sure I got a good printer. And I got a store rebate to boot.
I noticed right away that the printer was really quiet. I could not hear it print while the tv was on. I found the print quality was excellent. I printed test page using an entry from the thefreedictionary.com. There was no skipped lines in the color areas. Letters were finely printed. I printed a picture to standard paper and the printer did not print any lines in the graphic.
I did run into an problem though. Before each color page, it would print some sort of test page. I contacted HP support. They told me to unplug printer from computer. While HOLDing Power Botton, press Resume (aka Paper Feed) 4 times, and RELEASE Power Button. This will print a hardware test page with an errors. This fixed my problem and it didn't show any errors. 'Alexis' from HP Live Support at HP.com was the support technician.

For those of us who don't need the "All-In-Ones" and just want a simple Deskjet color printer, this is it! Color and B&W print quality is excellent! 100% better than the Canon I used to have.

I had a Canon BJC-85 and after 6 years it stopped printing. I couldn't get my homework done.
This printer was working in twenty minutes. It has a black ink cartridge separate from the color so I don't run out of the black so fast, and I don't have to keep switching catridges.
It takes the same ink as my Dad's HP PHotosmart portable photo printer, so I can borrow his cartridges when I want to print a picture.

After swearing by Epson printers for years this printer has changed my perception of HP. It's great. No clogged nozzles to worry about. Excellent print quality. Auto-shutoff capabilities. Very inexpensive, but as with most injets, the cost is in the cartridges - although they do last a long time. Highly recommended.

MY brother's printer is very good for all his needs! He uses it on a DELL INSPIRON 8000 note book with Microsoft Windows ME. WE had not had any problems with it. we also bought it with a 2 year extended plan at STAPLES. I am buying an hp psc 1610 all-in-one with a 2 year extended service plan!!!!!!
I highly RECCEMEND THIS TO ANY PERSON!!!!! I also wrote a review on the Hp Photosmart 2610 ALL-IN-ONE!!!
