Very nice printer makes big beautiful photos. December 23, 2009 Holly A. Lenz (Portland, OR United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought the Epson 1400 to replace a 1280 that I had for 8 years. I loved my 1280, but when it broke down, the 1400 was on sale, so I took the plunge. The newer printer is faster and the quality is even better. I am a little scared about the price of ink since all of the colors are separate, but I should not have to buy them as often (I hope). This printer makes great photos up to 13"x19" full bleed and I highly recommend it.
Great for graphic design! March 30, 2010 Ryan Wunn (Roseville, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm currently a student studying graphic design and have kicked myself for going to Kinko's and not getting this printer sooner. It has a wide range of print capabilities, and the print quality is awesome. If you find yourself wanting to print high quality photos, this printer is an ideal investment.
I love it May 19, 2010 Douglas H. Lighter 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love this printer, because it gave me good quality pictures. People have said it uses a lot of ink quickly, and I agree it does suck a lot of ink. However, I am not surprised since it IS a photo printer, and has individual cartridges. The only thing I will gripe about is that it does NOT come with a cable to hook up the printer to the computer. So go and buy the a to b ( i think? ) usb cable.
Very Happy May 27, 2010 Randy J Smith 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
If I listened to all the negative reviews I would not have purchased the 1400.
It's replacing my Epson Stylus 1280..... Absolutely the best 200 bucks I ever spent.
The print quality is equal if not slightly better than the 1280. Installation was a
breeze on a Mac, In the last 3 days I have printed 12 border-less 11/14's
and my ink still shows 100% When it's time to purchase new ink, I'll be heading to
[..] for their refill kits. I've used them for 8 years now without
a single complaint. Don't hesitate to purchase this printer. You'll be happy you did.
Dream machine for wide format on a budget... May 29, 2010 Paul R. Hartung (Milwaukie, OR United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Unless you need the gloss enhancement of the 1900, this printer will exceed the price-to-performance expectations of discerning image makers. Combined with a CIS and good ink/paper (plus maybe a good printing software like Qimage), the 1400 will have you laughing all the way to the bank. This model is ideally suited for quality and economy, which is why there's plethora information available on how to convert these to continuous ink supplied versions on the web.
If you're in the market, don't hesitate because Epson will soon stop making them as they try to foil the aftermarket work-arounds that prevent them from bilking the general public with their ink prices. It's nice to buck the system and make great prints at a fraction of the cost. Jump in...
